The question is, "Who is the Real Tab Hunter?" First and foremost, he's a family man who married his high school sweetheart and has three beautiful daughters. The family roots are in Nashville, Tennessee, where in 1992 he opened his first plumbing and heating company. Several years later, he converted it to a Benjamin Franklin Plumbing franchise and acquired a One Hour Heating and Air Conditioning franchise as well. By 2005 Hunter had grown his business into one of the largest providers of home services in the marketplace. That year he sold both franchises (each earning around $5 million in sales annually) to Clockwork Home Services and joined their executive management team.
Hunter's initial position at Clockwork's corporate headquarters was vice president. During his tenure, he used his industry knowledge and experience to increase franchise sales as well as to train employees to provide exceptional customer service with honesty and integrity. He rocketed to the position of President of Franchise Operations by the time the company was sold in 2009. It was then that Tab briefly retired, having helped Clockwork increase annual sales from $73 million to more than $283 million.
A year later, Hunter came up with the Surfin' Plumbers concept and purchased Pritchard Plumbing in Bradenton, Florida. Already, he has rebranded its fleet of 19 trucks and vans with Surfin' Plumbers graphics and easily identifiable logos. A new website has been created that is truly different from anything ever witnessed for a home services company. And that's only the beginning.
